1)General Policies 1) Code of Ethics The association of clans maintains a code of ethics that all members are required to follow. This code of ethics transcends all games HelixOGS participates in regardless of in game name. 2) Enjoyment The core value of HelixOGS is to provide enjoyment to its members. Should you find yourself not enjoying playing communicate such. If a solution is not found, take a break. Come back after a few weeks/months. Change games, do something new. But remember, once a member of HelixOGS, you will always have a space. Never allow a game to take over your life, work, school, or responsibilities. 3) Coms Voice and Text The use of overtly offensive language will be discouraged on our coms systems. Because the Syndicate will offer voice coms you never know who could be listening in. We understand the occasional slip up. But if asked to tone it down please simply comply with no arguments. Offensive language is considered any language not found on US cable channel Comedy Central. Just bear in mind that another players 5 year old daughter may be watching TV in the same room as mom or dad who is playing. 4) Expect Human Nature Recognize that people play these games for relaxation and enjoyment. People by nature even when team oriented are self interested first. We also understand that what motivates one person does not motivate another and respect these differences. 5) No Asshattery We are an older group of players. We have adult humor and discuss adult topics. You have the right to be offended, but personal attacks and repeated aggressive attacks on other members is never acceptable. You will be warned of such Asshattery from a mod or Game Lead twice. The third time will result in banning. 6) Begging Begging will not be tolerated in any form. Begging is always subjective and will be handled on a case by case basis by Game Leads. The following is considered begging more often then not found in RPGs and can include but are not limited to: A) Spamming guild chat with multiple requests to trade, buy, or get help in acquiring any item repeatedly when no response has been given. B) Sending multiple tells to a member requesting to trade, buy, or get help when being told No earlier C) Publicly begging for money or items. 7) Responsibility of Actions Players are always responsible for the actions of their accounts regardless if they are in control of them or not. Using an excuse that a friend was playing the account does not give the original owner of the account immunity to the actions of taken while the friend was in control. 8) Game Autonomy Each game the Syndicate officially associates with will maintain their own organizational structure and any rules in addition to the global ethics statement governing all members. Leadership within each game will determine the in-game association name. 9) Joining Games In Progress If a member chooses to begin playing a game the Syndicate currently has a presence in, the member must notify the Game Lead or Sponsor to get instructions and placement within that game’s organization. 10) Ethical/Policy Violation If a member is found in violation of the Association’s ethics or policies, a Game Lead will handle punishment within the game and notify a forum administrator. A forum administrator may choose to bring further action against member up to expulsion if the violation is bad enough. Typically the Syndicate will work on the 3 warnings and expulsion system. 5) |
